AMD Radeon R5 M430 vs AMD Radeon R5 M420
AMD Radeon R5 M430
► remove from comparisonThe AMD Radeon R5 M430 is an entry level graphics card for laptops. It was announced in the Lenovo Yoga 510 (14-inch-model) in early 2016. Technically it is similar to the older Radeon R5 M330 / M335 or R7 M340 but with a lower core clock of only 955 MHz (in the IdeaPad 110). It features 320 unified shaders and 64 Bit DDR3 memory bus clocked at only 873 MHz.
The gaming performance is similar to the Radeon r5 M330 and therefore in the entry level segment. Only non demanding games like Overwatch or Farming Simulator 2017 can be played fluently in low settings. See the list of all tested games below for more benchmarks.
The Radeon R5 M430 is still based on the old GCN 1.0 architecture (not verified) and supports DirectX 12 (11_1 according to GPU-Z).
AMD Radeon R5 M420
► remove from comparison
The AMD Radeon R5 M420 is a dedicated entry level graphics card for laptops. It is unclear if it is based on a new chip (GCN 2.0/1.2) or an older one. The GPU is produced in 28nm at TSMC and offers 320 unified shaders (5 compute units). The clock speed should be between 780 to 850 MHz (Boost). The gaming performance is located in the entry level, making the M420 suited only for light, casual gaming.
